I hope everyone is having a good week… because FOOTBALL IS BACK and everything is OK again.
Seriously, how did we live between February and now without football?
Anyways, the Jets are favored to win the Super Bowl AGAIN (for like the 10th year in a row!), and I couldn’t be happier. This team just keeps getting better and better. Between Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, and Chris Ivory, we look like a real NFL offense, and our defense only acquired the best CB of all time in the off-season. Things are looking up, to say the least. Who cares if the starting QB’s jaw is made of glass? When he comes back from surgery, his jaw will be damn near unbreakable!
Anyways, Here are a few links I deemed worthy of your reading while you are sitting at your desk counting down the minutes until 5PM:
Seeing is Believing: How Jets are using virtual reality technology to develop their quarterbacks – Really interesting story on how NFL teams are using virtual reality to better coach their QBs. Cutting edge stuff – we are living in the future, friends.
Crossfitters, You’re Too Weak – Christian Thibaudeau – It’s no secret that CrossFit emphasizes speed and power over all else. However, there are aspects of performance that reach beyond doing things faster and faster – like eccentric control. Thibs gives a great argument to include more slower tempo work into your Crossfit routine. Basically, you will be less injury-prone and will be more of a complete athlete. Give it a read!
Why Scale Weight Does Matter – Sohee Lee – Sohee lays out the pros and cons of weighing yourself. Personally, my weight fluctuates much less if I commit to a weekly weigh in, so I definitely am a proponent of weighing yourself – as long as you understand it is just one data point among many, many other relevant sources of data.
